Week 1 Day 3

Hello everyone! Here's today's workout  if you're following the new challenge with me :) Here's what I had for lunch today. I must say, it was probably one of the best salads I've made so far. It is romaine lettuce, black olives, grape tomatoes, 2 hard boiled eggs, artificial crab (not the best but it sure is tasty hehe), and hemp hearts. The dressing is just balsamic vinegar, olive oil, and a bit of honey. I had a piece of a banana that I had left in the fridge and also a piece of toast with light cream cheese. I was starving and I probably should have waited a few minutes before eating the toast, but oh well! ;) I've been thinking about creating a facebook page to post things like this and I'm still deciding whether or not I can commit to something like that. Also, big changes happening soon! :) I can't wait!!! -- Kelsey

Being Organized

Hello! For the last two Sundays I have gotten some of my stuff prepared for the week. I washed and preportioned out my grapes that I have for my morning snack, and I got my celery and carrots cut up for three days. At home I like to have my stuff prewashed so I can just grab it and eat. The green container is an ancient one from Tupperware but it is amazing. My lettuce keeps for days and my celery stays crunchy for over a week. I used to by the prewashed lettuce and spinach from Dole so I have saved up quite a few of the clear plastic containers that I now use to store my carrots and heads of romaine when I don't have room in the green one. I think having stuff ready is one of the most important things in maintaining your clean diet. A lot of the time people go for the awful processed stuff because it's quick and easy. No excuses! Having stuff ready and prewashed makes it quick and easy too ;) Last night when packing my lunch I found this container I had bought a f

Switching things up!

Hello! I've been seriously neglecting my blog and I'm sorry for those of you (if any) that actually pay attention to it lol. I've been so busy lately, stressed out as well, sick with pneumonia, and currently consumed by The Vampire Diaries on Netflix :) My gosh are there some gorgeous men on that show. What better motivation to exercise haha. I took 9 days of rest while sick and it nearly killed me! That is the longest I have gone without working out since I started in June. My body really needed it although my lungs are still healing and I have a dry hacking cough now, which sucks when it attacks during a workout. The title of this post is referring to my groceries that I bought tonight. I am a creature of habit and can easily live off the same meals and snacks for quite a while. But tonight I was at Costco and decided to try some new things to give myself some variety. My breakfasts and snacks are almost always the same: Breakfast: Oatmeal with frozen blueberries,

"You gotta get up and try..."

Happy new year every one! Last night I didn't have one drink =D It was definitely weird being sober and observing all the drunken behavior, but it was awesome not being embarrassed about something I did lol. Today on the ride home I heard P!nk's song, Try. This was the first time I've really listened to the lyrics and they are beautiful. Here is the chorus: "Where there is desire There is gonna be a flame Where there is a flame Someone's bound to get burned But just because it burns Doesn't mean you're gonna die You've gotta get up and try try try Gotta get up and try try try You gotta get up and try try try..." The video is really amazing too: click here  to see it on youtube. I hope you had a wonderful New Year's eve and I wish you all the best in this new year.
