If there's one thing I excel at besides eating, it is procrastinating. I put things off and wait until 'later' to get it done. I once heard that clutter is a sign of procrastination and realized that it's totally true. I'm not a messy person but I definitely have clutter in my apartment because I just didn't feel like putting it away in the first place. Even if it where the thing belonged was right beside or below where I left it.
I hope everyone in Canada had a lovely Thanksgiving the other weekend! And I hope that everyone is enjoying this beautiful fall weather. I don't look forward to Fall in the Summer, but that's because it means minus 40 weather is close behind it. But I do love Fall. The colors are gorgeous and the smell is lovely. 😄
Earlier this year I got a Polar Loop 2 because I already had the Polar A300 . I like the look of the Loop and it was pretty accurate for daily activity and calories burned. However, it was annoying having to sync each device on a different phone because the Loop isn't compatible with my LG G4. Luckily I still had my Galaxy S5 to sync it with so I didn't always have to connect it to the computer to sync data.
Today was day four of no treats. I think I should stop referring to this as a 'detox' because I'm still eating some things that have added sugar: like cereal, yogurt, etc. To some this may not be different but as someone who has a major sweet tooth, this is really hard for me.
This recipe is also from www.acouplecooks.com and was in my calendar. I didn't follow the directions exactly and swapped the summer squash for mushrooms for some extra protein, and I also just had mushrooms that needed to be used. The spice mixture for the lentils looked odd to me but I did as it said and they tasted pretty good. I topped my tacos with hot sauce and regular sour cream. Recipe can be found here ! Hola amigas! I went away in March and it was THE BEST TRIP I'VE EVER HAD!! The group of ladies I went with are amazing and hilarious - I can't even explain how much fun I had. We made some new friends there too and I can't wait to see them next year when we go.
I've been really enjoying the last few weekends with friends. Last weekend we went to an ice fishing derby that my boyfriend's company hosted - we didn't catch anything but it was a beautiful winter day to be outside. That wrapped up around 3PM so we got back to the city and decided to check out Festival De Voyageur. It was muddy and wet everywhere but was neat to be there since I hadn't been since I was 8. Ate some junk food, had a few beers, and watched the band perform a few songs.
When I was in Maui a year ago we stopped somewhere along the "Road to Hana" where there was a tiny coffee shop and a guy selling coconut chips outside his house. He had 5 or 6 flavors to choose from so I got vanilla and another one that I can't remember. And my dad got the volcano flavor which was a mix of sweet and spicy, and quite delightful. I looked up a recipe shortly after I got home from the trip and haven't actually tried it... until today.
A while ago I decided I eat too much of the same thing and it was getting monotonous so for my birthday and or Christmas I asked for a cook book. I had asked for either the Oh She Glows cook book or Thug Kitchen's first cook book as I wasn't sure at the time. My aunt got me a gift card instead though because it's cheaper to order online than purchase in store. So I ended up getting the Oh She Glows one.
I hope everyone had a lovely time over the holidays. I've been sick since a week before Christmas so only three workouts have happened. I still have a hard time deciding between when I should rest and when I should workout. I also have a hard time going easy... I just want to go all out every time. I've also been eating ALL the things so I'm feeling extra fluffy these days. 😒
